Editorial review:

This chic hotel used to be a Greek Orthodox church. It's within walking distance of all the main attractions of the city. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are fashionable, but some of them are extremely small. The rooms have anything you could want and amazing showers. Fans say it's worth the money. The Champagne Bar and Brasserie is highly recommended.

Very friendly staff with good in-house dining

Bed was very hard and the sound proofing in the roof was poor as you were very aware of the traffic outside.

We found the staff friendly and helpful. Loved the fact we didn't have to check out before midday - especially after our daughter's late graduation party the night before. Serving breakfast til 10..00 also helped. Bed was immensely comfortable and of a very generous size. Liked the fact the bathroom had body lotion as well as shampoo etc, as had forgotten mine. Altogehter a very relaxed and supremely comfortable experience.

Although the firidge in our room was well stocked - would have liked a fruit juice option. Al the soft drinks( except watre) were fizzy.

Fascinating building near centre of Glasgow. Good facilitiies and enjoyable breakfast.

One night only.In my view Malmaison is ahead of the competition in terms of design, style and comfort. "Superior" double room had desk and additional seating. Location is on the western side of city centre in a quiet location,5-10 minutes walk from main shopping, closer to good restaurants and bars.

The room didn't have residents lift access - check that if you need it.

The rooms were imaculate. Some of the best we have been in and we stay all across Glasgow after gigs.

We had a meal in the resteraunt and it was poor to say the least. The starter which we both had (duck) was one of the worst we have had. The main meal which my girlfriend had which was the mal burger was completely dried out. Afterwards she was ill from when we entered the room until the next morning.

The restaurant was very stylish and served well presented, delicious food. All staff were very attentive and made our stay as comfortable as possible.

Not an issue for our stay, but guests with lack of mobility should be aware that Malmaison does not have a lift and the staircase is quite daunting if vertigo is a problem.

Everyone was very friendly, helpful, and prompt. Room was large, vaulted ceilings, clean, very comfortable

a bit of noise from the restaurant filtered into our room

Really nice hotel , parking a bit of a problem but you get a 50% discount for a multi story 3 mins away . We booked the duplex suite , the pictures of the bath on the bookings.com web site is not the one you get with the duplex suite but the more expensive room called the big yin . So watch out before you book because it is miss leading . Apart from that the suite was very nice , great bed and nice decor throughout. Will stay at the mal again

No aircon in what was the most expensive room meant a very hot stay

Our room was 118. It was incredibly small and far too small to be on par with the reputation of other malmaison hotels. We had stayed at the hotel 3 years ago and paid a similar price for a much bigger room. Room 118 really really let the hotel down.

The room was luxury and food excellent. Would stay here again even though its less than 25 miles from home.

    Room was clean and comfortable...

No local information in the room. No local map available until we asked for one at reception..they found some in a drawer. Evening dining...we only used the brasserie once. There seemed an air of something going on??? Staff shortage maybe??? We were kept waiting a long time between courses and had to catch the eye of a member of staff as we were seated behind a pillar and seemed forgotten. The food was very good once we got it. Plenty choices for breakfast.

  • Older travelers

The bed was large comfy and clean and the air con effective. The breakfast was good too.

The decor is frankly looking a bit shoddy-the chair (in room 104)was ripped ,a cupboard doorknob was missing and a wooden wall panel fell out to reveal wiring). The room is completely internal with no natural dalight and not somweher you would want to spend much time. The bathroom sink could have been cleaner. The mineral water in the bar was extortionate!
